I Thought It Was All Exaggerated…
All those discussions about microplastics, aluminum in deodorant, and similar topics—I didn’t give them much thought. But when I got pregnant, I started researching.
I was shocked.
The industry wants us to believe its products are safe, but they are not. Most of them are harmful, make us sick, and can cause infertility.
Why am I sharing this on a blog called „Church Girl“? Because I care about you. And I believe there is a spiritual component to this.
God created our bodies; they are a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are supposed to care for them well. However, many of the products we use do not serve our bodies—they harm them.
This topic can feel overwhelming, and I don’t want to spread anxiety. I want to spread awareness. It’s not about perfection like never eating chocolate again or never using nail polish. But every small change you make is a step toward better stewardship of your and your family’s health.
If you’re interested in trying this, I invite you to check out the category „Beauty & Style“ where I share non-toxic alternatives that I use in Germany (I don’t get any money for this—it’s simply from my heart to yours). For American products see Jordan Lee Dooley.
My goal when it comes to wellness for myself or my family is NEVER perfection. It’s simply to be aware (NOT scared) and just do what I can to be a good steward of the body I’ve been given by God without turning that body into a god itself.
