The title of this blog probably causes different reactions. Some of you might identify yourselves with Church Girl. Others might wonder how they ended up here. What is this about? A website founded by a stuffy girl who wears grey long skirts, braids and of course, doesn’t know how to spell “fun” even though it’s only three letters?
Well, actually no. I don’t like long skirts, but I’m in love with leather jackets, jeans and chelsea boots. And I’m only wearing braids at the gym sometimes. Sooometimes. I’m crazy about traveling and all kinds of adventures, my dog Aimy, singing, fashion, make-up, furnishing, and there are many clumsy moments I could share with you. Long story short: I guess there’s a lot of fun in a church girl’s life. 🙂
Why am I writing?
Maybe you are one of those people who ask themselves: “What is wrong with the Christians? Something terrible must have happened to them as infants. Their brain doesn’t seem to work properly.”
Perhaps, you don’t explicitly believe in the God of the Bible, but you kind of like the idea that there is something in life that watches over you. Something divine that will lead everything to a happy ending. Fate? Or maybe a combination of different religions?
Possibly, you believe in God, but you feel like He doesn’t love you. You think that He doesn’t care about you because of all those terrible things that happened to you in the past.
I know, it’s not always easy to have faith. It really isn’t. There were so many times in my life when I doubted God’s love towards me, when I doubted God’s goodness, and I even doubted His existence sometimes. I know what it means to suffer, to feel desperate and broken. But there are so many reasons why I would like to encourage you not to give up. Give it a chance, and let God introduce Himself to you. I’m sure you’ll be surprised. He is so different than you probably think right now.
Jesus loves us so much, although we do not deserve it at all. He gave His life to give me mine – and this is why I write these articles. I want to proclaim His love and grace. No one will ever know you better than Jesus. And still, no one will ever love you as much as He does.
On Church Girl I would like to share my experiences, struggles, and thoughts on different topics in my walk with Christ. Do you want to walk with me?
